Coffee

Danielle Mulcahy

“Let’s meet over coffee.” Todd Christy suggested and when we took him up on his offer, Todd opened up to us a whole new world of small batch coffee roasters, some of whom are here in Finds. What makes this community important to him, Todd explained, is that usually farmer-producers make around 8-12% of a sale price per pound. These roasters on the other hand, have a goal of raising that to 65-75% per pound for the farmer. So whether you call it Direct Trade or Farmer Direct, what this community brews over is sharing information and respecting the farmer. That’s something we can all roast about.
