Pear Purée

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe organic pears

In a medium saucepan, boil a cup of water and then bring to a simmer. Place a steamer basket inside the pan and add the cubed pears. Cover with a lid and steam until pears are soft and tender, about 10 minutes.

Let pears cool before transferring to a blender. Pulse blender until you get the desired consistency. Pour or scrape pears out of blender and into a bowl to cool.

Freeze purée in an ice cube tray or serve within 3 days refrigerated. Add pumped breast milk to thin out the purée, 1/4 ounce at a time.

Yield: 1 cup
