Mollie’s Version of cà phÊ Ðá

This is one of my favorite summer treats in lieu of ice cream. My mother, on the other hand, would serve coffee ice cream or any flavor every day of the week. Warning: as my mom says, “This is addictive.”


  • Freshly brewed espresso or dark roast coffee (for as many or as few as you need)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • Ice

Note: We prefer espresso for this

Place 4-5 cubes of ice in a tall glass or glasses. Drizzle 1 to 3 tablespoons (to taste) of sweetened condensed milk over the ice. Pour 1/3 cup espresso or ½ cup of brewed coffee over milk and ice. The milk and ice will stay relatively separate. Serve with a spoon. Let the guests stir.
