Basil Gimlet

  • 2 ounces gin or vodka
  • 1 medium sized lime, quartered
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 3-5 leaves fresh basil

Place the basil and simple syrup in a mixing glass. Add the lime pieces and muddle. Add the spirit and ice. Shake well and strain over fresh ice or serve up. Garnish with a cucumber slice.

* To make simple syrup combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of hot water and stir until dissolved.
